David has over 25 years of leadership experience in the insurance and private equity sectors. With a proven track record in strategic planning, business growth, and risk management, he brings a dynamic approach to guiding businesses through transformative opportunities.

David’s career includes significant roles within the Badger International Insurance Group, where he played a pivotal role as Group Director for over two decades, and as founding member and COO at dotsure.co.za, South Africa’s leading pet insurance brand. Aside from his current role as Goshawk CEO, he also serves as Group CEO of Multi-Risk Investment Holdings, which Goshawk holds a majority share in.

David has completed executive programs at (among others) Harvard Business School, Melbourne Business School, and Columbia Business School. His advanced training equips him to lead with insight, adaptability, and a forward-looking perspective, fostering organisational excellence.

Dedicated to creating value for partners, David embodies the grit and optimism at the core of Goshawk’s mission. His leadership empowers entrepreneurs and business owners to navigate challenges, unlock potential, and achieve enduring success.

Outside of work, David is passionate about organisational leadership and enjoys engaging in lifelong learning. He’s a sport lover, enjoys physical exercise such as trail running and gym, and is an avid golfer (although a poor one at that). He enjoys spending his spare time with his two children and partner.
